Here is the scenario: your vehicle is involved in an accident. This is where it all starts. Your vehicle is damaged in an accident and your car has been deemed a total loss. At this point, you will decide if you want to sell what you can of the vehicle or sell it to a salvage yard.
First, when we take your vehicle, we drain the fluids out of it and remove the battery. We will recycle everything we can; from the oils to the anti-freeze, everything can be recycled or repurposed will be.
Once all the fluids are drained and recycled from the vehicle, the parts begin to be disassembled. Any parts and the tires that are in good shape will be checked into inventory and resold. Essentially, once your vehicle has run its course and it’s time to say goodbye, one of the best options for both you and the environment is a salvage yard.

What many people don’t know is that even this process is done at a high standard for the wellbeing of our environment. At R.H. Willson, we crush our vehicles and put them into bundles (about 4-5 vehicles per bundle). Once we have a couple of bundles, we put them on a flatbed truck and haul them off to be recycled - all of the steel, metals - it all gets shredded and recycled.
When you take your vehicle to a salvage yard or you sell your car to a salvage yard, it is important to remember how much is being recycled. When your vehicle cannot be repaired, R.H. Willson Salvage Yard is here to recycle your vehicle!
