How do Salvage Yards Recycle?
At R.H. Willson, we are members of the Automotive Recyclers of Massachusetts and this means we have a daily commitment to recycle and properly reuse auto parts and fluids. We also abide by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations for everything we recycle. These things allow about 85% of each vehicle to be recycled when it ends up in a salvage yard - that means most parts and fluids.
Salvage Yard Impact
Salvage yards take in the vehicles that you do not want or cannot use anymore and we ensure they are properly disposed of and recycled. Some vehicles have hazardous waste or chemicals, fluids, and batteries that are harmful to the environment. The EPA has strict guidelines on how to dispose of these and salvage yards ensure they do so properly. All the auto parts that salvage yards reuse or recycle are done so to ensure no harmful toxins are released into the water, soil, or air.
