The Christmas Season is here with all the decorations and holiday spirit. Christmas is approaching quickly with less than two weeks to go, but this Christmas I wanted to switch things up. I decided to use what the salvage yard had to offer to make this year’s holiday decorations. We have many used tires, and I turned them into a Tire Christmas Tree and a Wreath.
The tree was the tricky part because I had to find sizes small to big to make it look like a real tree. Luckily the guys at the salvage yard decided to help because my first attempt was good but not great. We got the right sizes with some help from customers bringing stuff over the scale. There was a whole truck load of small tires, which were perfect for the top. I saved more than I needed for later crafts too. We made the tree, added garland, sparkly lights, and dump truck to top it off. It looks great!
The next step was the wreath. I took an old motorcycle tire because it is skinnier. I needed some help getting the rim off, but the rest was up to me. I put some ribbon on it, made a bouquet of flowers at the bottom, and added a merry Christmas sign. It looks nice.
The best part was taking old recycled items and making something new with them. Creating beautiful crafts with the everyday items you have most available!
Stayed tuned for more projects to come!
